93
1Yahweh reigns!
He is clothed with majesty!
Yahweh is armed with strength.
The world also is established.
It canβt be moved.
2Your throne is established from long ago.
You are from everlasting.
3The floods have lifted up, Yahweh,
the floods have lifted up their voice.
The floods lift up their waves.
4Above the voices of many waters,
the mighty breakers of the sea,
Yahweh on high is mighty.
5Your statutes stand firm.
Holiness adorns your house,
Yahweh, forever more.
94
1Yahweh, you God to whom vengeance belongs,
you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine out.
2Rise up, you judge of the earth.
Pay back the proud what they deserve.
3Yahweh, how long will the wicked,
how long will the wicked triumph?
4They pour out arrogant words.
All the evildoers boast.
5They break your people in pieces, Yahweh,
and afflict your heritage.
6They kill the widow and the alien,
and murder the fatherless.
7They say, βYah will not see,
neither will Jacobβs God consider.β
8Consider, you senseless among the people;
you fools, when will you be wise?
9He who implanted the ear, wonβt he hear?
He who formed the eye, wonβt he see?
10He who disciplines the nations, wonβt he punish?
He who teaches man knows.
11Yahweh knows the thoughts of man,
that they are futile.
12Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah,
and teach out of your law,
13that you may give him rest from the days of adversity,
until the pit is dug for the wicked.
14For Yahweh wonβt reject his people,
neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15For judgment will return to righteousness.
All the upright in heart shall follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?
17Unless Yahweh had been my help,
my soul would have soon lived in silence.
18When I said, βMy foot is slipping!β
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, held me up.
19In the multitude of my thoughts within me,
your comforts delight my soul.
20Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you,
which brings about mischief by statute?
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous,
and condemn the innocent blood.
22But Yahweh has been my high tower,
my God, the rock of my refuge.
23He has brought on them their own iniquity,
and will cut them off in their own wickedness.
Yahweh, our God, will cut them off.
95
1Oh come, letβs sing to Yahweh.
Letβs shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!
2Letβs come before his presence with thanksgiving.
Letβs extol him with songs!
3For Yahweh is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
4In his hand are the deep places of the earth.
The heights of the mountains are also his.
5The sea is his, and he made it.
His hands formed the dry land.
6Oh come, letβs worship and bow down.
Letβs kneel before Yahweh, our Maker,
7for he is our God.
We are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep in his care.
Today, oh that you would hear his voice!
8Donβt harden your heart, as at Meribah,
as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,
9when your fathers tempted me,
tested me, and saw my work.
10Forty long years I was grieved with that generation,
and said, βThey are a people who err in their heart.
They have not known my ways.β
11Therefore I swore in my wrath,
βThey wonβt enter into my rest.β
96
1Sing to Yahweh a new song!
Sing to Yahweh, all the earth.
2Sing to Yahweh!
Bless his name!
Proclaim his salvation from day to day!
3Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples.
4For Yahweh is great, and greatly to be praised!
He is to be feared above all gods.
5For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but Yahweh made the heavens.
6Honor and majesty are before him.
Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of nations,
ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.
8Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name.
Bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9Worship Yahweh in holy array.
Tremble before him, all the earth.
10Say among the nations, βYahweh reigns.β
The world is also established.
It canβt be moved.
He will judge the peoples with equity.
11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice.
Let the sea roar, and its fullness!
12Let the field and all that is in it exult!
Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy
13before Yahweh; for he comes,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
the peoples with his truth.
97
1Yahweh reigns!
Let the earth rejoice!
Let the multitude of islands be glad!
2Clouds and darkness are around him.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3A fire goes before him,
and burns up his adversaries on every side.
4His lightning lights up the world.
The earth sees, and trembles.
5The mountains melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh,
at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6The heavens declare his righteousness.
All the peoples have seen his glory.
7Let all them be shamed who serve engraved images,
who boast in their idols.
Worship him, all you gods!
8Zion heard and was glad.
The daughters of Judah rejoiced
because of your judgments, Yahweh.
9For you, Yahweh, are most high above all the earth.
You are exalted far above all gods.
10You who love Yahweh, hate evil!
He preserves the souls of his saints.
He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11Light is sown for the righteous,
and gladness for the upright in heart.
12Be glad in Yahweh, you righteous people!
Give thanks to his holy Name.
98
A Psalm.
1Sing to Yahweh a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.
2Yahweh has made known his salvation.
He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4Make a joyful noise to Yahweh, all the earth!
Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!
5Sing praises to Yahweh with the harp,
with the harp and the voice of melody.
6With trumpets and sound of the ramβs horn,
make a joyful noise before the King, Yahweh.
7Let the sea roar with its fullness;
the world, and those who dwell therein.
8Let the rivers clap their hands.
Let the mountains sing for joy together.
9Let them sing before Yahweh,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity.
99
1Yahweh reigns! Let the peoples tremble.
He sits enthroned among the cherubim.
Let the earth be moved.
2Yahweh is great in Zion.
He is high above all the peoples.
3Let them praise your great and awesome name.
He is Holy!
4The Kingβs strength also loves justice.
You establish equity.
You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5Exalt Yahweh our God.
Worship at his footstool.
He is Holy!
6Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Samuel was among those who call on his name.
They called on Yahweh, and he answered them.
7He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud.
They kept his testimonies,
the statute that he gave them.
8You answered them, Yahweh our God.
You are a God who forgave them,
although you took vengeance for their doings.
9Exalt Yahweh, our God.
Worship at his holy hill,
for Yahweh, our God, is holy!
100
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
1Shout for joy to Yahweh, all you lands!
2Serve Yahweh with gladness.
Come before his presence with singing.
3Know that Yahweh, he is God.
It is he who has made us, and we are his.
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
5For Yahweh is good.
His loving kindness endures forever,
his faithfulness to all generations.
101
A Psalm by David.
1I will sing of loving kindness and justice.
To you, Yahweh, I will sing praises.
2I will be careful to live a blameless life.
When will you come to me?
I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
3I will set no vile thing before my eyes.
I hate the deeds of faithless men.
They will not cling to me.
4A perverse heart will be far from me.
I will have nothing to do with evil.
5I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor.
I wonβt tolerate one who is arrogant and conceited.
6My eyes will be on the faithful of the land,
that they may dwell with me.
He who walks in a perfect way,
he will serve me.
7He who practices deceit wonβt dwell within my house.
He who speaks falsehood wonβt be established before my eyes.
8Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land,
to cut off all the workers of iniquity from Yahwehβs city.
